10 Steps For 1 SuccessFul Fitness Career

How to make a career in the fitness world? That's an interesting question that Jeff Seid tries to answer in ten points. It was in  2015 in Germany. Almost six years already but the advice given by one of the best fitness models of the last ten years is still very relevant.

How do succeed in fitness industry ?
Step 1: Build an aesthetic physique

It may seem like a no-brainer, but it's worth remembering. If you plan to make a career as a fitness model in the industry your main asset will be your physique! Obviously charisma is important, we'll come back to that, but the reason why people will follow you and want to look like you is first and foremost your physique: your pecs, your abs, your muscle definition. Think of Arnold, Jeff Seid of course or even Lazar Angelov!

Step 2: Create a portfolio of photos

It is important to create a portfolio of photos that puts you in various situations. One of the sources of income as a fitness model will be sponsorship. And so if you show yourself in situation also in fitness mode, training, chill but also dressed.

Contact professional photographers. In some cases you will have to pay and in other cases it will be a collaboration, an exchange of goodwill. But quality photos, in various situations throughout your evolution will be a great business card. They can also feed your social networks.

Step 3: Be present on social networks

This allows us to move on to the 3rd step: social network presence. Here again, it seems obvious today, but some people neglect this aspect. Keep in mind that what you are going to sell is your image. Social networks and image form the perfect equation.

Think of the Simeon Panda, Ulisses, Jeff Seid, Lazard, it is the well mastered social networks that allowed them to explode and reach the top.

Facebook, Instagram and Youtube are the must-haves, even if the former tends to decline. We won't forget Tik Tok which is exploding or Pinterest.

Step 4: Increase your presence

Being present, opening an account on different social networks is good, but you still need to be active. A pertinent remark from Jeff Seid during his conference: go beyond simple photos, put yourself in situations in videos. Because there is a hierarchy of interest: text, image, video... And vary the situations. Be original.

Step 5: Be unique, be you

What makes you different from another muscular guy with six-packs? What makes you unique? At a time when every day we can see more guys with impressive physiques, what will captivate your audience? This is where charisma and personality come in.

If in the first step we were reminded that the physical aspect is the number one element, it remains that 100kg of muscles without a personality will quickly become boring.

And in an industry where participants tend to look like photocopies, don't be afraid to make a difference: think of Jeff Seid, Lazar but also Blessing Awodibu. Because the idea is to attract attention and keep it.

Step 6: set a goal and stay motivated

Staying motivated is probably one of the most difficult things in the fitness industry. How many one-day stars are gone today. The best way to be anything but a shooting star is to have a clear long-term goal and stick to it no matter what. Because difficulties are bound to come: injuries, depression, facing harsh criticism.

This is where the motivation or the mind comes in. This will be your main resource throughout your career.

Step 7: contact companies

At some point, you will need to "sell" yourself. Because of the competition in the fitness world, you can't expect anyone to come to you. And this is where all the previous work will come in handy: creating a portfolio of images, a strong presence on social networks, as well as a unique personality.

Try to identify a few companies that best fit your profile and image: supplements but also clothing, equipment. What companies are looking for, aware of the impact of social networks especially with the younger generation, are people who can hold attention and deliver a strong advertising message.

Step 8: Create a fitness brand and market your name

Brand Yourself. Think and build yourself as a brand. That's why, if you pay attention, the biggest Fitness Models are all known by names now, or a name. It's more memorable than weird nickname: Lazar Angelov, Simeon Panda, Andrei Deiu, these are names you remember.

Step 9: collaborate with others Fitness Model

Fitness or bodybuilding are individual disciplines. But at some point the success will come partly from your collaboration with other people. If you follow YouTube channels or Instagram accounts of the biggest fitness influencers you will see that regularly they collaborate with others.

Step 10: Make money

Life is not for free. Even if very often a lot of work done, such as presence on social networks, you will find a way to monetize the image you have built. The first of these, depending on the platform, is advertising. This will depend on the number of followers, the number of views. But this is not the only one: sponsoring, product placement, selling programs, Ebooks, launching an application ... are all solutions to make money and have a return on investment of all the efforts made.

To conclude, making a place for yourself in the fitness industry is difficult and the competition will increase. If you want to make a living out of your passion and become a recognized fitness model you will need more than just muscles.
